Brush your teeth by going back-and-forth and up and down, but go softly because you don’t want to cause any bleeding. Don’t forget to brush your tongue and do the roof of your mouth.

Ideally, you should brush your teeth two times per day. If you’re too busy to do this, then brush at least once per day or rinse your mouth out with water after you eat. If you simply let food buildup, then you won’t be doing yourself any favors.

2. Floss

Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of flossing, which is something you should be doing on a regular basis. However, a lot of people don’t do it because they forget to floss or they think they don’t have time to do it. If you’re serious about your oral health, then floss daily, especially after you have finished eating.

Flossing offer an array of advantages, such as getting the places brushing can’t get. Another advantage is flossing can remove particles of food that is located right between your teeth. Ideally, you should floss at least once every single day.

3. Go Easy On These Beverages

There’s nothing wrong with drinking certain beverages. However, you want to limit the amount you take in of certain beverages. These drinks include coffee, soda and alcohol.

The above beverages can ruin your teeth and they all contain a large amount of phosphorus, which can deplete your body’s calcium levels when it is consumed in excess. This can also lead to you developing gun disease and tooth decay. Soda often contains corn syrup and food dye and both of those ingredients can quickly cause your teeth to become dull looking and discolored.

Instead of drinking soda, coffee and alcohol, stick to other beverages such as milk. Don’t forget about water too. As a general rule of thumb, stop drinking unhealthy stuff and focus on consuming the healthier stuff.

Also, alcohol is a big culprit behind causing tonsil stones. Because of its dehydrating effects, your saliva levels drops which allows bad bacteria to thrive within your mouth. Which is how infections (any, not just tonsil stones) are caused.

4. No Tobacco

One of the worst things you can put into your body is tobacco, which can wreck havoc on your teeth. It will increase your risk of oral cancer, too. Periodontal complications can occur if you consume quite a bit of tobacco.

Plus, the chances are if you use tobacco, then you’ll use agents to cover up the smell of it. Such agents are also not good for your teeth. The bottom line is you want to avoid using tobacco at all costs, whether it’s smoking it or chewing it. It’s simply not good for you, so if you do currently use it, then quit.

5. Use Mouthwash

You don’t have to use mouthwash, but it is a good idea if you want to maintain good oral health. Mouthwash can kill off bacteria that are in your mouth, and it will make your breath smell good, as well as help you keep your teeth strong. Best of all, you can purchase small bottles of it and use it while you’re on the go.

However, not all mouthwashes are created equal. Do your research on the different brands of mouthwashes and then decide which one is the best. Remember, the cheapest isn’t necessarily the worst, nor is the most expensive one always the best.

6. Consume Vitamins

Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to eat healthy because junk food and high sugared foods can wreck havoc on your overall health. This includes your oral health. The more junk food you eat, the more of a chance you have of wrecking your teeth.

Vitamin enriched food will keep your teeth strong, especially if you consume foods with plenty of calcium in them. If you can’t eat enough healthy foods, then buy vitamins. Just do research on vitamins and choose one that is of high quality because you want to make sure you are only using the best vitamins out there.

7. Go To The Dentist

Finally, go to the dentist. Regular dentist visits is a must. They will look at your teeth, clean them and tell you whether or not there is anything wrong with them.

Maintaining good oral health is easy. At least it is if you implement the above tips. The sooner you do all of those things, the sooner you will notice an improvement in your oral health, which means you’ll have less of a chance of experiencing major oral health issues.
