The Folk School has Landed.

January 6, 2010

…in North Chattanooga!

250 Forest Ave., one block north of Frazier.  It’s a silvery box of a building, high up on a hill, full of music.  As of this week we’re in there every day, teaching our lessons and planning/marketing for the winter semester of group classes.  The renovations will be finished by February, and by then the folk school will be in full swing like never before!  We’ll post regular hours soon, and in the meantime, just give one of us a call if you want to stop by for a visit.  We’ll proudly give you the grand tour!

You might be wondering:

Q.  What happened to Mountain Music, the store on Dayton Blvd.?

A.  It’s under new ownership now, and currently getting restocked and ready for a busy 2010.  Stop in and say hello to Darren, the new owner.

Q.  Weren’t you guys working on a plan to move the folk school to the Southside?

A.  Yes!  And we haven’t given up on that plan!  The Southside, and particularly Main Street, has been extremely hospitable to us, and it’s a very desirable spot for us to move to someday.  For now, we’re excited to be in North Chattanooga, and the building we’re in is just the perfect place where our plans, ideas, and programs can grow.
