Would you like to be the person who brings a smile to everyone’s face when you walk into a jam session? Competent rhythm players are always welcome.  In this class we’ll learn how to read tablature and chord charts. You will learn how to get that authentic old-time sound from your guitar. And, we’ll learn the chords and progressions that the masters did and didn’t use? The class is taught by Gary Scheufler who has played with and for some of the best known and many of the lesser known fiddlers of our region. The class will use John Schwab’s new book, Learn from the Masters. Both Gary and several guest fiddlers will work with the class. Prospective students should be able to form and play the basic guitar chords of A, C, D, E, F and G and be able to strum these chords at a moderate tempo (70 bps) in common time. The class is limited to 8 students.

Saturdays from 12:30 to 1:30 pm

An 8 week class. Last session is on November 24th.
