Irish Slow Session

  • Folk School of Chattanooga
Come all ye brave heroes, wherever you may be! If you would like to learn to play traditional Irish music this is the place for you. We play standard Irish session tunes very slowly and with many, many repetitions. Mistakes, and plenty of them, are welcomed and encouraged. You’ll be amazed how you can learn jigs and reels by pure osmosis. Get the most out of the slow session by bringing a recording device to practice your new tunes at home. We meet every Tuesday night at 6 PM.

The Folk School of Chattanooga is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to cultivate a thriving community of musicians and music supporters in Chattanooga through educational programs and public events, with a primary focus on traditional music forms of our region.

We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, national origin, creed, age, or physical or mental disability, and we pretty much love everybody.
