Beginning Fiddle: If you have wanted to try out traditional fiddle, this is the class for you. Although folks with previous violin training are more than welcome, no experience with the violin or other musical instrument is necessary. We will start at the beginning with how to hold the instrument and the bow, how to develop both right and left hand technique and how to practice for maximum efficiency. Our focus will be on learning a few Appalachian fiddle tunes like Boil ‘em Cabbage Down, Oh! Susanna and Buffalo Girls.

Instructor:  Gary Scheufler

Gary is a certified master instructor in both Mark O’Connor’s Method and the Suzuki Method of string instruction. This class will follow Book One of the O’Connor Method, and the New American School of String Playing.  Limit 6 students.

An 8-week class. Last session is on February 28th.
